Tony has been riding bikes since the age of two, kickstarting a sense of freedom that developed as he grew older. Spending pretty much all of his childhood & teens exploring the countryside on his bike with his brother and friends.
After having a lightbulb moment on a chairlift in the Alps in 2006 and keen on sharing his passion for all things two wheels, Tony set about the idea of getting as many people as possible, no matter their age, ability or experience out onto bikes and discovering the great county that is Devon and from that enlightening moment, evolve mtb was born!
A keen competitor, Tony started competing in cross country races during the early 90's on Woodbury Common and at Newnham Park. The downhill sections were what excited him the most in these races, with the steady popularity of downhill racing growing, Tony entered his first downhill race in 1994 at Ashcombe. The feeling you get from riding as fast as you can against the clock is still with him now; racing downhill & enduro regionally & nationally..
Tony is the current South West Downhill Champ & 3rd place finisher at the English Champs in 2014 in his category, riding for Whackjob Clothing.
Tony is an MBLA Trail Leader, British Cycling Level 2 Cycling Coach & a trained OTC Technical Mountain Bike Leader, also a nationally qualified youth worker with a vast experience of working with a wide range of young people & adults from different agencies.
